Can mosquitoes suck blood out of a cup like they do from the human body ?

Firstly, only female mosquitoes suck blood as it is required for egg development. The blood from the host’s body is transported using two muscular pumps present in the head of the mosquito. The pumping action is well- coordinated and results in systaltic motion of the human blood through the food canal.

Hence, the mosquitoes don’t rely on the host’s blood circulation for their intake and might be able to drink from a cup too However, mosquitoes are known to feed only warmed blood from a membrane they can puncture.
